From the Artist:
Best known for her 1812 (exceedingly public) affair with poet Lord George Byron, Lady Caroline Lamb was was a British aristocrat and novelist. She was also niece to Georgiana Cavendish, bosom buddy of Marie Antoinette. Lady Caroline was known to be incredibly well educated, intelligent, spoke French, Italian, Greek and Latin most fluently, and enjoyed music as well as drama.

Indeed, Caroline had attracted the attention of the poet through her accomplished wit and vivacity, and he in turn obsessed over her, actively trying to destroy her marriage so that he might have her to himself. He was 24 and she 27. It was she who described the poet as “mad, bad, and dangerous to know.”

Awesome Sheela. And I love the story with this piece. Really outstanding work.

And BTW- the CBS sun art can definitely be done as a jeweled pendant. That would undoubtedly blow the producers socks off! Anything goes as long as it’s recognizable as a sun face.

Thanks SO much, D, you know I love your work too. This is one of the rare instances I wish I wasn’t a munchkin, sigh.

Awww, thank you Vikki, thank you.

Hey you must have a hidden camera rigged in my house because I was JUST commenting aloud that the CBS Sun Art Challenge wasn’t something I could do, and being a wee bit sad about it too 😀 thanks dear xoxoxo

wanted to add….the way you photograph your work with the shadows giving the piece dimension—am already anxious to see your “SUN” presentation.

I didn’t make it on time for the Sun Challenge, Sonya 🙁

No worries Sheela. Will do Sun Art at the first of 2010 again. It’s really a great theme and to see it done in jewels, beads and sparkles would be outstanding.
