Anthony was living in New York at the time , on Staten Island and absolutely loved New York – we both still do. He really doesn’t like England or the fact that he is British and was happy to be a Resident Alien in the USA! He was in the middle of a huge outpouring of inspiration creating his mannequin series – many of which can be seen in the video I created called Mr. Frank is 300 years old and can be seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rycri83o_7k
-anyway, it was the 4th of July , everyone was celebrating in the streets and the whole atmosphere was festive. He felt so happy (and patriotic!) to be there that he decided to dress the mannequins up in red white and blue and paint a 4th of July picture.
That is why we felt it was perfect for this challenge!
