From Sheela:
“Isola Segreta“-The Secret Island
Just that one liner from Cornelia Funke’s book, The Thief Lord, set me thinking. What if I had my very own Secret Island? A haven from the rest of the world. Inky blue water with promises of secrets yet untold. The subtle glint of copper and gold. The rhythmic lapping of frothy, sun-kissed waves. Of course, there’d be intriguing formations of foliage that create a labyrith-like effect around my Isola Segreta. Flora and fauna mingle with bramble and vine.
In as much as I wanted to maintain an aura of mystery with Isola Segreta, it was also my intent to infuse an element of light, of fun, to recapture that sense of Joie de Vivre which adults often misplace as they take on life’s challenges.

I like your vision, comforting and serene. Sprinkle a little fun and festivity on top.

Stunning jewellery and wonderfully imaginative presentation Sheela.

Oh, love the work…the almost spear head pendant, I would feel very powerful wearing that, the chain holding it makes me want to touch it and giggle. The picture is amazing! It looks like it’s Out In Space…that’s too freaking cool.
I get that let it go and live, love and laugh feeling.

That is one magnificent pendant. Only a simple dress would do! Your story is also wonderful.

‘OMG!’ is what comes to mind. Absolutely extraordinary art in jewel and jem. Love the detail of little clusters that just sparkle. Beautiful piece Sheela.

ARRGGHH! Here is another comment I left earlier and disappeared -must speak to Vikki Wench about it! What i said was that I thought this was a stunning piece of art jewellery and very imaginatively presented. I love it.

I don’t know why it would loose a comment- but I’ll look into it. I apologize for not getting back to everyone. I can’t see! I had my eyes dilated this morning for a new prescription.. talk about ARRRGH!

Thank you, Eric
I was going for the contrast of not just light against dark but more so of soft against poignant. And with heady doses of zest thrown in

LOL yes it does have that “not from here” feel to it, Heather. From a technical perspective, it’s a simple piece but all the elements combined make what I believe to be a very dramatic design.
And thank you

Hey Beckie, yes, something really sleek so the necklace “pops”. I love writing and it shows, I guess

Thanks very very much, Marion, I think this is the one theme (to date) wherein I had the most fun pondering upon, conceptualising and actualising. It held so many possibilities and to be honest, I’d initially wanted to write a story then decided to go with the necklace instead

Thank you, Vikki, for amending the title for me, I just realised I’d sent in the wrong info in my email to you, duh Sheela. Note to self, never submit things when one has only had 2 hours of sleep

When you dear Lady you POST. Love the way your mind thinks and even more your ability to be so descriptive. You weave a spellbounding novel and then deliver with delicate to the minute jewelry that I just MUST HAVE one day.
