From Karin: Having missed the ‘June Bug’ challenge deadline, I’m happy to have a free theme opportunity to bring him to life here!
My first “pet” was a giant beetle that I created an outdoor nest for, and tended to daily. I’ve been attracted to insects, especially beetles, ever since!

Hi Karin,
You’re June Bug is outstanding and very 3-dimensional. I’d love to hear how you actually make a piece like this (in the Pub) sometime. Please please please come tell us.
Really outstanding piece Karin.

She is adorable! Is it mounted on a board or free standing?
I know how you feel, missing a challenge. Thank heavens you got to share yours now!

I just visited Karin’s BLOG and saw June Bug.
Everyone must see the wonderful pictures of her sculpture – especially riding on the back of her dog!

Beckie you are so well versed in discovery and bring it to the attention of one who is missing all the details. Thank you for the reminder to go to Miss Karin’s site. Amazed at the size and 3d effect of the “JuneBug” Excellent work Karin!
