Vikki, this is so beautiful. What you can do with acrylic amazes me! Of course, I am partial to acrylic!!! but you always make it look like oil! Just beautiful! I’m honored to know you!

Hi Beckie. Thanks. I’m an oil painter by trade, but I’ve enjoy working with acrylics and a lot of mediums. I do tend to try to make acrylics behave like oils because it was the way I was trained. It’s not really possible and they insist on doing their own acrylic ‘thang’..but I keep on trying. lol

    Hi Vikki
This is really a beautiful painting! Beckie is right..you make acrylics work like oils! Great work of art.

    Thanks Arti,
I do love glazing and that’s really the trick even with acrylics. I’ll sometimes, especially with portraiture, do a painting completely in black and white and then come back in with a color glaze. It really gives you a level of control.

So beautiful Vikki — It immediately brings feelings of loving emotions to me and memories of how much love a mother feels when holding her new little baby.

As usual, my dear, color (paint, acrylic) me impressed! Even I, on occasion, can be moved by the maternal instinct! Consider me so moved!
–As for our milk bath (our personal little joke that probably isn’t all that personal any more), I have the slaves busy milking the goats even now (or did you ask for camels’ milk this time around? –Please don’t tell me I should ask Johnny who’s already in too depp (he-he), and way over his head (glub-glub). –William, a fan.

They almost appear to be a relief. Cold hard stone chisled away to reveal the warmth and softness a child’s vulnerable need that opens the coldest of hearts.

My children made me the best of what I am.

That baby’s butt is just pinchable! A very lovely madonna and child. I like the way the mother’s face fades into the darkness. Very nice indeed.

Victoria…. this is superb…. if any person doesn’t get a warm fuzzy feeling gazing at this…. then nothing would move them. Beautiful…! :)
