From Roseann: So someone says to a woman, “What’s wrong, honey?” and the standard first answer is “Nothing.” The wise man (a true treasure) knows to let time pass and then try again, because we all know that that’s not true. In my reference photo for this painting, the woman is obviously upset, but she was alone. I added a sensitive male figure to hear her out.

Hi Roseann,
When I was a little girl, we lived in Madrid for a while. I actually took flamingo and castanet lessons when I was about 9yrs. Your painting brought it all back to me.
Beautiful posturing of the dancers, brilliant color and gorgeous rendering .

Well, if ever a painting evoked for me my tango-ing days in Argentina, this is it! The only other reference that comes to mind is the time I once spent hitting as many of the many smoke-filled flamenco tavernas in Spain as I could crowd into one two-month holiday.

Such attitude and posture. You capture the essence of the dance so wonderfully. And yes, a wise man may be a treasure, but I feel a strong woman as depicted would be an even grander treasure.
