Very photo realistic Rusty. I’d love to hear more about how you create these images. Really pretty.

Your pieces are so detail orientated. Have had the pleasure of seeing the artwork with the gem along side. Each of the rocks are so very alive and moving!

I would never have imagined anyone being about to PAINT a crystal! Wow! Beautifully done.
I think rocks were the first of my many collections. Still don’t go anywhere without bringing home a rock!

Long a fan of uncut gemstones, I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: You definitely have a very special way of always putting the essence of a crystal on your canvas that borders on having me as much in awe as viewing the real stone.

Amazing how much clarity and detail you manage to capture. Yes, very photo-realistic.

I try to paint from the actual specimen, especially the translucent and clear ones. Photographs can distort the depth of the minerals with reflections. I paint them with thin layers of color, allowing them to dry in between. Most importantly, I am enchanted with the minerals. I hold them, turn them in the light, run my fingers over their facets and feel their energy. They are my passion but not my story.

Beckie, we have a meaningful collection of vacation rocks too. Thank you.

William, while I think cut gems and polished jasper and agates are beautiful, I am also in awe of the uncut minerals. I decided I would only paint minerals in their more natural state. I am working on amethysts now. Thank you so much for these comments and your previous ones.

Amazing. Icy beauty. Lovely and skillful use of colors very close on the color wheel, but packing a strong punch.
