Talk about a Treasure…..I fell in love with this delicate jewel, and just had to get her on canvas. The long tendrils, the exotic stripes and spots, and those colors, well that did it for me!!! Look deep, deep, into her eyes…………..!!!!

‘She’ is an exotic little flower. Is this a deep red or what they sometimes call a ‘black orchid?’ Very rich and pretty.

Sharron how perfect! The visual texture you have achieved in painting this makes it 3d!

It’s beautiful! The detail makes me think we are seeing it under a microscope – a tiny like micro-organism that’s hidden from from normal appreciation! Great job, Shez!

Thank you all for your lovely comments. I forgot to add that this is a Lady Slipper Orchid, of the black variety as Vicki guessed. The lighting caused all the little hairs to show Beckie so had to add some.

I’ve long had the fantasy of one day having an orchid named after me. And while as close as I’ve gotten is a digital DRAQUAL ORCHID named after Vlad Draqual (my protagonist in my SUCKS! THE FIRST OF THE DRAQUAL VAMPYRE CHRONICLES), and found on the book’s web-site, I’m always intrigued and fascinated by any genus of this particular flower; your rendering a real stunner! Thanks for such thoroughly sensuous viewing pleasure!

I do love the orchids, such a feminine, sensual flower. Amazing how you captured the light, and all the little details of this beauty. The hairs, OMG, what detail. so beautiful.

Very pretty indeed. I see those little “hairs” as little sparkles, just like a ruby would have.

Lady Slippers and Trillium are among my favorite wild flowers. The Lady Slippers are like jewels among the woodland foilage. Your highlights capture that.

William, Eric, Roseann, Rusty, you all are too kind, thank you. Your creativity shows so well, with the poetry that come from your words. :)
William I shall have to go and have a look at your Draqual Orchid and see if it’s as dark and mysterious as the word conveys. I too have always been intrigued by this flower

Yes, I did look deep into her eyes…hard to look away! I agree, very pretty, and I am also taken with your background.
