Now Rusty you hit the photorealism stage and gone beyond it. When you first sent this to me- I had to put my nose on the monitor and still couldn’t find a brush stroke anywhere! Your amazing and so very talented.

the long dry spell that you have not been able to paint had a purpose I believe. Look at this; I stand looking at this and have to come see it in real life. When will you be displaying this?

Sonya!!! This is the third in a series I am working on for a March/April 2010 exhibit at Studio 14 in Tipp City Ohio. Each piece does tell a story about life’s changes. One of those blooms in this painting is me, can you tell which one?

I’ve always preferred realism over abstract, and your painting reminds me why. There’s something truly wonderful about the way you’ve painted this and managed to portray the poignant story it tells. Wish I were closer to Ohio, so I could drop in on your upcoming exhibition; pleasure so few and far between!

You’ve ingeniously translated the instinctive wisdom of nature through both verse and brushstroke .. and here I had thought hibiscus plants ordinary ! Silly me !
