This is really outstanding Gail. I kept on looking it…again and again. The different planes you’ve created are amazing.

    Gail,

I hope you will tell us more about this piece. (okay, I’ll beg….)

Thank you all for your comments. Ok Rusty, begging gets to me every time (did my sons tip you off to that?).
Simply said, I meditate often, having done yoga and energy work for years. It is a symbolic representation incorporating the faces of masters and guides I am thankful for encountering throughout my life’s teachings.

Could look at this for ages and keep seeing new things in the shapes. Reminds me very much of the beauitful Balinese batik paintrings I used to collect when I lived there. Lovely work Gail.

Being from the Pacific Northwest, I couldn’t help but find some similarity between your work and the Indian renditions I’ve seen on totems, on the walls lodge houses, on the sides of canoes, even interpreted three-dimensionally in ritualistic masks. Love what you’ve done, portraying the contemplative mood through your piece of artwork.
