Hi Fanny- Gorgeous detail as always. I love that her back is turned to do us…definitive silence, yet her head is turned to the side listening. Wonderful concept.

Fanny, I am intrigued with the holes at her shoulders, back of her neck and wrists. Beautiful work.

this has an aura of days gone by; when the clowns danced in silence to the laughter of younguns ringing under a circus tents.

It’s like she lives in some secret world…where she can’t hear the clowns laughter. Very nice piece:)

Thank you all for your lovely comments! I love images of clowns and as they are mostly silent I felt it was appropriate for this challenge. Rusty…the holes are tunnels for any sounds that might want to disturb the silence!

Fanny, I love how it looks as if there is a gentle breeze blowing.

Dear Sarah, One of the most important things for me in a work is movement. Thank you for seeing that!

Fanny, This is stunning. To me it looks like her silent thought has just been broken and she has just began to focus on what it is she has heard.

Yes I can see that completely Gail….so glad you like it.

Looks like I got hear too late, all the things I would have liked to have said about this have already been said in previous comments. I agree with all of it. For me this is just so magical.

Better late than never! I hope, anyway, as regards my finally checking in … in that I did enjoy the way this particular work brought to mind a sideshow I attended as a child that had a tattooed woman who I distinctly remember to this day as having had a wondrous world of designs rendered on just about every part of her (visible) body: more awe-inspiring (color me gone silent) than scary, even at the time.
