From Jfay:
Is there anything more silent than the grave? Anything more horrible than loosing one of your own? Since even vampyres have family members who are lost, not only to the disintegrating powers of sunlight, but to the malicious intent of individuals, sometimes of whole families of vampyre slayers, out to destroy us by driving wooden stakes though our hearts, is it so unlikely that we, too, sometimes share the desire to light a candle in memoria?

The DRAQUAL IN MEMORIA CANDLE is fragranced in Frankincense & Myhrr, the final tribute to any family member who may have been hunted down by members of the church. The candle is actually pierced by a real wooden stake and is handpainted to emulate the tragedy of spilt vampyre blood.

Hi Jfay- OMG! This is so wild. William must be beside himself with this creation. And Frankincense & Myrrh scent! ?! I would love to smell that.

Jfay, I had to close out and look again. I couldn’t find the candle!! Your candles are always great but your creative staging and photogaphy is award winning.

Certainly, this candle has become one of the stars of my ever-growing Jfay-candle-creations collection, all based upon my literary efforts. (For those interested in seeing my full collection — http://www.myspace.com/maltesecandlegallery ). No one makes a candle quite like Jfay, as my characters have pointed out now, in several of my published books!

Thank you all very much! This was a very fun project in that I did actually get to drive a stake through the candle’s “heart”! And the poor little lost candle souls that had to suffer through the many experiments ; ( Never know what may be going on in Jfay’s candle (torture chamber…) studio! And thank you much also for the comments on the photography. I enjoy that just as much as creating the candle designs.

A striking, final, and silent sight, for sure! I was wondering about the coffin, did you make it?

This one reminds me if the work of the Dadaists Duchamp and Man Ray, with the ordinary becoming something unknowable and mysterious Pretty, damn cool. Who could hold a light to you?
    Really wonderful.
