Hi Rusty- So cute in their silent mischief. This would be a beautiful gift card.

I made it up to Studio 14 this morning. Rusty; online viewing of this doesn’t touch the clarity and tenderness of your series. The feather in your original actually looks like it had just fallen. Bellissimo!

Rusty. Your works never disappoint. And if I’m forever bowled over by your representations of minerals, you’ve proven here that you’re a true artist no matter what your chosen subject matter. “Silence”, indeed!

Hi Rusty. I love the stillness of that captured moment of time. A beautifully executed watercolor, my favorite medium.

Thanks for the gift card suggestion. I think you’d be right about that.

Sonya,
I so appreciate that took the time to see the exhibit. Once the pieces were framed and up, I was dumb struck with the series. I’ve been working on it for so many months that I feel like they are portraits of my friends hanging up there. Thank you so much.

Pegi Sue,
I think my brush was just having a good day. Thanks

William,
Now that I have this series done, I’m switching over to only paint the minerals for the next two months. I have a 17″ amethyst geode to get finished.

Ray,
Having seen your watercolor, I’m please that you think I handle them well. I hope to do backgrounds as well as you, one day

Ray,
Your comment made me think back to the day I took the photos of those two feathers. Now that I think about it, I am fortunate that I found them before it rained. It could have been a moment never discovered.

This is a beautiful watercolor painting Rusty. I love the feeling that you captured a quite moment in nature.

Your connection to nature is truly evident in all your work. This series is lovely.

Rusty, your work is gorgeous – no more to say!

There’s nothing wrong with your backgrounds, Rusty. I think we all see things in our pictures that others don’t, good and bad. You have fantastic control of the media. But if you’d like a tip for the backgrounds, just close your eyes and use lots of water… the paint does the rest. That said, I know I can learn a lot by looking at your work, and do, hope you don’t mind.

Rusty, of course, I wholeheartedly agree with everyone before me. Feathers are such a wonderful representation of ‘silence’ as every word I can think of to associate brings me back to this.
