Oh Ray. Did you jump from the top of the barn when was a young boy and believe you could fly? Loved your piece (received and already hung!) It’s all about the journey flight!

flying too close to the sun and melting the waxen wings!

Ray- Now do you actually own that ensemble? If so, we need an actual photo of you in it. I especially love the stripped stockings.
As always great fun, beautiful work and so indicative of your personality.

I’ll let you all in on a secret,… I made it all up, the flying, the burning of my angel wings, and yes,… the costume too, though I do have a pair of similar trousers and I am a little slimmer than my portrayal suggests in the painting. Now that’s the story I’d like you to tell the world, but between you and me, if you want a hero, just whistle.

Sonya, glad your picture arrived safely and even happier that you like it.

What an amazing image Ray! You’ve got everything in there – humour, drama, strong colours, soft colours ….what an imagination!

I was always superman in the playground at school with my imaginary cape and my imaginary villains and my imaginary damsels in distress. I’ve just found another way to harness this imagination now. Anything is possible. I do so love your work, Fanny, so very much, making your very kind and encouraging words even more meaningful.

Ray in your work, anything is possible and believable. Your motality is showing and that makes you all the more lovable. (the horizon of your painting is so sublte and beautiful)

Ray, I needed a hero this morning and you more than delivered! Love, love, love your work… It made me smile.
But it was your comment below Vikki’s that made me laugh out loud. Are these stockings going to reappear in A Midsummer Night’s Dream? You could make a series out of this.

Thank you all for your comments, it all means so much to me and Gail, thank you. That connection, for me it’s what it’s all about. What can be better for the heart than a smile. Sorry you didn’t let me know sooner, I’d have flown over.
The ‘stockings’ have appeared in many pictures already, perhaps one day I’ll publish them as a set.
