Gorgeous! Love the soft delicate lines of the roses next to the hard delicate lines of the basket. Wonderful composition!

Thanks Gwen. As I look at it now – its a really terrible shot of it. OMG! The background is actually a greenish black. I guess my camera has it’s better days. lol

It’s so Victorian Vikki! I really like the direction your florals are taking you!

It is Victorian in flavor. I didn’t realize that. I like that description.

whomever grabs this up/you should show them your Victorian lady on the gentleman’s cigar case as a companion for this piece!

Vikki, I Want to smell these roses- they are so beautiful! Love the lighting in this, it enhances the beauty of every petal.
This would make a lovely card or invitation.

Thank you Rusty and Gail. These were really fun to do. Haven’t ventured into florals that much – but hope to do more.

These remind me of ole cabbage roses, full and o so sweet. Spilling out from the iron clad shade, hard and softness wrapped in one. I would happily grow these. Absolutely beautiful Vikki

Vikki, I love how paintings of florals make them last forever. I agree, so soft and pretty, I like the one fallen leaf. I am also so drawn to the lamp shade (really lamp shade or basket?), love that style.

Hi Vikki, out of the two I don’t know which I like the best. This one has so much charm and poignancy, inanimate objects with personality, neat, as you say in America.

Neat-O Ray! Actually I don’t think anyone says that anyomore…. At least God help us if we do. lol

What I was trying to do here is step back to a traditional style of still life painitng from the turn of the 20th century. But, by not centering the piece, I was also trying to give it a contemporary signature. I don’t think an artist of that time frame would have off centered their subject to point you only see half of it.
