From Sonya: “Nothing determines your creative life more than doing it. This is so obvious and fundamental, yet how much energy is wasted on speculation, worry and doubt without the relief of action.”

The action you have captured as the birds try to keep their perch is masterful. Such essence of effort against her stillness.

This is really and interesting composition Sonya! There has to be a story behind this painting and we want to hear it! (And I know the saying was the close of your email but its so cool.)

I really love this one Sonya. The imagery has a real innocence to it yet at the same time, so much power. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all we had to worry about was gripping our perch?

I love your use of colour here Sonya, as well as the concept of imbalance in a perfectly balanced world. Well done.

Smile they say never ever put the focal point in the CENTER of the canvas. Hence look here-look there and blustery leads across the canvas. She is a personal statement in my heart. Live each day fully and with balance!

Oops ….Thank you each one…was what wanted to say first and foremost!

She’s steadfast with her conviction, never minding those that peck away at her. Strong message Sonya !

I feel a balance and strength in her stance and support of the birds, who cling, slip and perch in the wind! I love this piece and the sense of stillness in movement, softness in power – really wonderful Sonya!!
The Ian Roberts quote is fantastic.

Sonya, I agree with Ray…I think this is a powerful metaphor for all of us trying to keep some kind of grip on our perches.
