From Karin This image is taken from my personal journal, and is about having alopecia universalis, which means I’ve lost all my hair. …gone with the wind….
I have considered having my head tattooed with a design like the one glimpsed on the top of this blue head. A little over ten years after my alopecia diagnosis I am finding myself surrounded by rooms filled with bald, or barely haired women, as we battle our various forms of cancer. I’m grateful for not having had to deal with the whole hair loss trauma at the same time as everything else…

I have seen some beautiful bald headed women. The most beautiful are the ones who are confident and powerful with or without hair. I hope you at least try henna and feel your power. Thank you for sharing us a glimpse into your personal journal.

So much fun Karin! And I applaud your courage and strength. We are not our hair… and its so easily replaced. As I told you Sonya and I are hair growing maniacs and will be clipping pony tails and sending off to Lock of Love in a few months.

Hi everyone, sorry it’s take me so long to get here to say THANK YOU!!!!! and the henna tattoo idea is one I have in the works
I have a friend who does some wonderful mhendi design work, so we tested my skin out, doing my hand first and I didn’t have any adverse reactions, so we’re going to try to set up a head time one of these days. I’ll share pics!
thanks for all your supportive words!
