From Gail:“No Empty Chairs” came from a thought I had as I watched our porch rocker, rocking in the wind. A friend had once told me we have no empty chairs in our homes because they are always filled with loved ones and dear friends who have passed and are watching over us. Sometimes our perceptions give us an imperfect grasp of a situation..

A chair woman after my own heart. Really like your pastel and secondary tones and dampling effect. It creates a wonderful energy to the work.
I also like the message. I don’t think most realize how symbolic ‘our chairs are.‘ We name them, we claim them, sometimes carry them with us like and old friend. In return, they hold the stories of our lives.

Gail,
I can see myself sitting in that lovely setting.
I enjoy the patterns you have created here and the balance of warm and cool colors.

Gail, rockers are my favorite type of chair. This one looks very inviting, through the color combination and softness. I really like the symbolism of them, too.

has it’s own aura Gail. Imperfection is the condition of loss presence of a loved one. Excellent concept.

Lovely colors and the effect achieved with the soft pastel gives it a kind of eery ambiance suitable for it’s title. Well done.

What a lovely concept of “no empty chairs”, makes me feel quite emotional, the truth of it. Also a lovely picture, but very often it’s the concept that becomes the inspiration for others. Quite uplifting. Thank you.

Thank you all for your comments- Sarah, rockers are my favorite too! It was symbolic because it reminded me of two very dear loved ones who passed on the same day…..but it brought a smile and really did lift my spirits – thinking they were with me watching me paint!
