From Vikki: This little box was one of the first I did for the new Gift Site. It’s made out of a heavy wood and stained in a rich mahogany. Shortly after I got it home I realized it had an ever so slight ‘humidity warped’ lid. I was so upset! It was my favorite of the lot and one of the more beautiful boxes. As I looked at it, I realized the slight warping of the lid didn’t impact its functionality. It’s a sturdy little box and ‘imperfection’ or not, I decided to paint it and offer it on the gift site at a reduced price. (For the next 3 days I’m offering this box though the Challenge for $14 less than it’s priced on the Gift Site. )
It’s the perfect gift for any cowpoke that needs to keep his sister out of secret cowboy stuff. It comes with its own lock and two keys! It has a bright red felt interior lining.

A lovely painted box and such an insignificant imperfection. A cowpoke would be down right proud to keep his treasures in this fine locked box!!!

Thanks. These little boxes are so quick and fun to do. The smoke shops actually just toss them in the trash when they’re empty! (If you haven’t, please go to The Gift shop and see the assortment of styles of these boxes. The cigar manufacturers go to great lengths to create beautiful wood boxes. )
And I have to tell you- When I first found this smoke shop, the owner had them all stacked in a pile by the his front door. I had my pick of what I wanted. The shop has recently been flooded with artists and craftsman asking for them! I think that’s so cool and I love that it’s ‘artists’ are the ones that see the value and beauty in repurposing .
