From Vikki: On the cusp of the anniversary of Sept. 11th – I chose the American Bald Eagle, the U.S. National Symbol, to represent our American ‘beliefs‘. It is indisputable that our pride in being Americans is a belief that possesses the mind- not only with our citizen.. but unfortunately our enemies.
In reference to the painting, once near extinction, our beloved Bald Eagle is now flying high in numbers again. And are you aware of how large this bird is? He has a body length of 28–40 in and a wingspan between 5’ to 8’. (I know! His wings could hang off the edges of your king sized bed! )

Thanks Sonya. I’ve had 9/11 on the brain and just couldn’t resist. He’s a big birdy for sure and oh so beautiful.

Vikki, This is perfect….so majestic. A gorgeously, golden glowing portrayal of a magnificent symbol of our country….this would be a great poster for members of our services or the main lobby of an office building. I also love the blues in the background…beautiful palette.

The way you have him almost floating on the branch belies his size and power. America is a big and powerful country, in the right hands the bird can mirror the country well. A stunning image, as always. I can see your heart in there.

Thanks Ray and Gail- I don’t know why I got this wild hair up my …. and decided to illustrate the Bald Eagle. I guess I’ve been watching to much Discovery Channel. As you know, not my usual thing and why I did a second. But, he was great fun to do.

Vikki, I love how he is about to take flight, very appropriate and fitting for such a powerful symbol. And I did not know they were THAT big…I feel like I should have!
