From Dana This mask has been in my family since I was very young. My parents placed it on a wall behind the sofa, so you would see the reflection of it in the TV while sitting on the sofa. No wonder my babysitters never came back. This is an Indonesian Guardian spirit, but never-the-less, he’s pretty scary on a dark night!

Absolutely wild and scary and so beautifully rendered. Love them choppers! He takes on a clown like appeal…probably because of his coloring.
And I chuckled with the comment about your babysitters. To funny.

I think masks like these were created to scare off evil spirits. I think most people think they are evil spirits. Wild times in the imagination of creative mask makers and babysitters.

Dana, I see it, too, a scary clown in there! And I definitely wouldn’t want to meet those eyes at night. Such a great idea for this theme
