From Gail: Restlessness is usually calmed by meditations that involves creative flow dreaming, for me.
“If you let yourself be blown to and fro, you lose touch with your root. If you let restlessness move you, you lose touch with who you are.” -Lao Tzu

I think that it is true that giving in to random restlessness can get you lost. I think your piece represents order or thought process to choose a path. It could take some time to study this piece.

I agree with Rusty. I find myself going back to study elements. I really enjoy the fact that although random elements at first glance- when you look again everything is relevant. I also really like the detail in each you’ve rendered. That ‘detail’ is your signature style Gail. Beautiful peace and very appropriate for the theme

really like the eye in this one-relates at first glance to all the other elements in shape and reflection

Gail, so very colorful! I agree, as well, I find myself wondering how each element could be channeled. Makes me further appreciate creativity.

What a very striking piece! Restless to the core and, for me, just what art should be, provocative AND entertaining.

When I first clicked on the page and saw this piece I laughed out loud! I love this! It’s fun and definitely restless. It really catches your eye immediately and then draws you in to stay awhile.

Thank you all for your observations. I apologize this is so late in coming. The symbolism in this is based on a number of cultural symbols, some Native american, some Eastern Religions, as well as my own. Images flow in and out so easily, its hard to capture them quickly enough. The four eyes represent the many perspectives we may allow ourselves to hold, if willing.
