Hi Rose!
Absolutely gorgeous. The detail. overall composition and color palette are really beautiful. This ritual of male and female birds taking turns sitting the nest is just one of the most amazing wonders of nature.
Not quite as glamorous as your heron, I have big black crows that do this on my property. Off and on you’ll here one cry out teh most earth shattering screech from the nest. I know they’re saying “It’s my turn to go out now! Come home!”
