Hi Peg-
So much emotion in that face. I’m a cat Mom also so I know that look well. Your background, perspective on kitty and washes of color are absolutely wonderful. (I really like the loose line in contrast to the intricate background.)
And Welcome to the Challenge!

Okay, you made me read the background. Those must be the cat thoughts? Intense!! and how like a cat.

This one gave me a good chuckle. The no-nonsense intensity in the cat’s face and the background manifesto came together to give me this hilarious scene (ask the others- it’s what I do) where the daffy evil genius has just delivered his list of demands to the UN via video conference while holding and petting this cat. Before Dr. Demento has a chance to break the connection, the cat makes the villian regret his experiments in telepathy (using this intrepid feline as a case study) by pulling a coup de gras on his owner, rendering him powerless with his mind and projecting his own demands on the same video feed his “master” is currently being shamed on in front of the UN.
Don’t ask- weird and incalculably impossible things lurk between these barely functioning ears of mine. In any event, excellent work and welcome to the Asylum- I mean, the Challenge.

First of all, a great piece of art, the kind that needs no explanation, it’s all there in front of you very well done. In saying that, I have three cats who live in the house with me and two feral cats who live somewhere in our gardens, we know not where, but they all turn up twice a day at the same time with just that look on their faces. And if it isn’t fish!…. ?

Peg, I really like this, too. Cats do have that uncanny ability to express ‘I’m pitifully, literally, starving but I have just enough energy left to hurt you if I have to’ look at those hungry times, no matter how frequently they occur! (Our kitty will nip at my leg if I take too long.)

I too am a cat owner…are we all nuts? I love the graphic qualities of your painting, and the expression is right on.

Thank you all so much! Mickey had a look that could kill and painting her portrait was something I just had to do, even though it was totally out of my normal way of making art. This site is wonderful…so happy I found it and all of you!
