From Vikki:
I’ve always found something inherently funny about the man behind the curtain and this was so much fun to do. I also wrote a funny little spoof that goes with the painting. To read it please visit THE INFERNO.

HAHAHAHA! And now we know what she’s been staring at all these years. Nicely done!

Thanks. This was fun! You should read my little ‘subliminal spoof that goes with it’ on the Inferno. I don’t know if it says something about the world out there – or my attitude. lol
BTW-We missed you in this theme. You’re always one of our stars!!

Oh Rusty! Thank you and you are my hero! I wondered if anyone would see that was Kermit back there.

I apologize for my absence, Miss Vikki. Things have been a bit well, scattered as of late. I am working on getting the day-to-operation of IFS back online, and I should be able to return shortly. Figures things would go sideways right in the peak selling season…

Vikki, as always beautifully painted, but Kermit and the hiding figure… sheer genius. Lots of fun and such skill. Whistler would either be very flattered or he’ll be spinning in his grave but either way, a lovely painting.

Hi Lelan- No pressure ever. I know you’ve had a hectic few weeks. Your work comes first and our good wishes are always with you.

Hi Ray- Thanks. Interesting note about Whistler- If you look at the chair leg- he put no shadow under it, so it floats. The shadows he does have are really ambiguous. And on the Mother’s face, he has a dark outline on the left of her profile where the light would hit. . I resisted correcting it and painted it as close to his as I could out of respect- but I do wonder if Whistler ever had formal training . Isn’t that odd?

I actually did put a soft shadow floating backwards on the chair leg just to give it gravity. He doesn’t have that in his work.

Vikki, definitely one of my favorites of yours…those feet are so endearingly amusing! And I didn’t look close enough before and now notice Kermit – wonderful.
