From Patricia: I haven’t yet figured out what this should be cast in. Bronze is all very well, but I don’t really like it, so I may get creative with something more contemporary. Decisions, decisions …

Patricia,
This is so pretty! I love her little hand posed under his and the serious expression on both their faces. Beautiful work.

Story time, folks. We come in mid-scene on a couple stoicly and silently standing in solidarity against the shockwave following the worst news they could possibly hear at this time in their young lives. The ache apparent in their faces broadcasts, not weakens, their resolve to forge through this calamity with an iron-clad will and courage. Their faith in each other passes between them in a dark acknowledgement of the kind of hope they can only find by soldiering on together. Beautifully rendered, Patricia. Well done.

Have you considered resin? I can think of several applications that would be conducive to either soft feathering or sharp contrast (whichever your preferance) should you be so inclined to add color detail to the finished piece. Then again, it’s been awhile since I’ve even touched sculpture, so maybe I’m getting my applications and media confused.

Thank you Vikki – and Lelan. What a wonderful story Lelan – thank you for putting it out there. As you probably guessed, this was inspired by some dancers whom I knew a few years back.
Yes, I’ve thought of epoxy. It’s a while since I used any because I was working in it at a young age and ended up allergic. Might be time for doing sculpture en plein air!

Patricia, caught in a touching moment…it makes me wonder, too, about their story.

They look like they are in the spring of their lives. In love with spring and each other.
