From Rose: We were living in North Dakota when I started instructing my son how to drive. The safest place I could think of to do this was at nearby Lake and Creek Darling. It was a special memory for me and I wanted to remember that time with this piece. It was just before the snow season, and everything had a golden glow about it.

Really pretty piece Rose. I (my family and I) lived at Minot, North Dakota air Base for about 3 years when I was kid. I remember the winter wonderlands there also.

Thanks, Vikki. We were stationed at Minot for 3 long winters! I remember 80 below temps, and snow so high that I couldn’t find the neighbors.

Rose, just before snow, yet the colors are so warm…I really like this.

Thanks, Sarah. I love afternoon light the best. EVERYTHING looks better with that golden glow! I did underpainting with burnt sienna to get some of that effect.
