I think that  one the problems with the show, The Next Great Artist,  it feeds into the notion that if you create it-it will be great and people will come to see it.

In your post about needing to get current on the website and show your new work is just a glimpse into the life of an artist.  One amazing piece does not make a career.  The career comes creating the work and all of the business responsibilities of owning a business. 

That was a good point made about the judges on project runway...they gave us a glimpse into their world.
"What was ordinary; wearable; fashion forward; one note; no taste; consitant; skilled; editorial and so on."  I think I learn things when I watched it.
